Network Controls and Electric Helps Morris Community College Create State of the Art Forensics Center with High Speed Cabling

GREENVILLE, SC, May 17, 2010 – Network Controls and Electric – a leading supplier of structured cabling, electrical and technology infrastructure -- is helping Sumter, SC-based Morris College to create a state-of-the-art Forensics Center.

Morris College President Luns Richardson told the Sumter Item the new center means Morris "will have expanded opportunity for our students, and it will strengthen our (criminal justice degree) program, and it will also render a service unto the community for law enforcement who may want to use our facilities. The sheriff has already signed on."

Morris College will expand its study programs to include a new forensics curriculum.

Network Controls and Electric will install throughout the 6,000-square-foot facility category 6 cabling that enables high-speed transmissions of voice, data and video. Metro Contracting, Inc., of Columbia, SC, is the general contractor for the project.

The $1.45 million, one-story building will include five laboratories, two for DNA analysis and one each for fingerprint analysis, ballistics analysis, fire debris and controlled substance analysis. It will also hold two classrooms, a conference room, a lounge and a vehicle bay.

The facility is expected to be ready for students in September.
