Vista Expands List of Eateries and Entertainment Seven-Fold
COLUMBIA (May 12, 2010) – The Congaree Vista Guild expands its stretch of fine dining and nightlife establishments by seven new restaurants, with some already serving and others poised to open their doors to Vista crowds this summer. From the raw bar at Pearlz to the Latin flavors from Mojito’s, the Vista continues to build upon its reputation as Columbia’s arts and entertainment district, undaunted by the economic downturn.
Soak up the spring while it lasts at these fresh finds:
· Pearlz, 936 Gervais St. Savor seafood, a raw bar, Lowcountry and regional favorites and a full-service bar, open for dinner.
· The Sly Fox, 902 Gervais St. Enjoy English pub food and the accompanying atmosphere, for lunch or dinner.
· Thirsty Fellow Pizzeria and Pub, 621 Gadsen St. Try everything — it’s all made fresh and on the premises, from pizza and signature sandwiches to salads, daily specials and even Sunday brunch.
Vista faithfuls and visitors alike are sure to brave the summer heat for these cool, new spots:
· Mojito’s Tropical Café, 1004 Gervais St. Inhabiting the old Hush location, this Latin-themed restaurant brings drinks, décor and dancing to the table. Open for lunch and dinner, beginning mid-June.
· Tako Sushi, 1115 Assembly St., formerly Doc’s Gumbo. Japanese cuisine and sushi bar, opening early summer.
· Blanco, 920 Lady St.. Contemporary, two-story dance club, opening in June.
· Tin Roof, Park and Senate St. Live music, cold beer, tasty food. Opening early fall 2010.
