Greenville Community Helps Professional Hockey Team Top ECHL Ticket Sales

HockeyGreenville leads league in season ticket sales for three weeks

GREENVILLE, S.C., May 24, 2010 – Since hockey’s return to the area was officially announced last month, the Greenville community has come forward to support its new ECHL team with top season ticket sales. Greenville’s new ECHL hockey team – temporarily titled HockeyGreenville – has incurred the most 2010-2011 season ticket sales in the league for each of the past three weeks and currently has the highest year-to-date total.

HockeyGreenville has sold more new full season tickets during the weeks of April 30, May 7 and May 14 than any other ECHL team. As of May 14, HockeyGreenville has also led the league in total season ticket packages since sales opened on April 13.

“Leadership in the league’s season ticket sales demonstrates the people of Greenville’s excitement for this new team,” said Neil Smith, co-owner of HockeyGreenville. “The passion and dedication shown over the past weeks is the reason why we chose to bring the team to this community.”

Season ticket package prices range from $300, $415 and $540 and include all 36 home games and a substantial discount from individual game tickets, which are $9, $13 and $17. For children (ages 14 and under), senior citizens (ages 62 and older) and those who show their military identification, tickets are $9, $11 and $15, respectively.

Season ticket deposits of $100 per seat are now being taken. Fans are encouraged to visit www.hockeygreenville.com, call 864-250-4868, or stop by the BI-LO Box Office, Monday-Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The team, which relocated from Johnstown, Pa., is currently hosting a Name Your Team Sweepstakes, allowing members of the Greenville community to help choose HockeyGreenville’s official name, colors and mascot. The decision will be announced on June 25 at Main Street Friday in downtown Greenville.
