Innovative gallery show spans platforms and materials

Using flickr.com as a satellite gallery, two artists (who also work as art educators/administrators) are making South Carolina art accessible to the world.

The 'real' gallery show is @ ARTworks in Beaufort, June 4 through July 10, 2010, and online at http://tinyurl.com/ClayPaperThread-ARTworks

The show includes clay objects, handmade books, and non-traditional embroidery by CJ Norwood and Lisa Annelouise Rentz.

CJ Norwood is a visual artist based in Port Royal SC. She is the director of the summer ARTblast @ ARTworks for kids.

Lisa Annelouise Rentz lives in Beaufort with her husband. Her short story, Glove, is forthcoming in the Art from Art anthology from Modernist Press.

ARTworks is free to browse Tuesday-Saturday, and is the home of the Arts Council of Beaufort County, a non-profit service organization dedicated to nurturing multi-cultural arts, and is not a function of the county government. The multi-faceted community arts center also contains working artists' studios, a black box theater, workshops, and much more: 2127 Boundary Street 29902, 843-379-2787, http://www.beaufortcountyarts.com.
