Woodlands to offer more benefits to residents
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Playing 18 holes at the Furman University golf course and use of the university’s Physical Activities Center will now be part of the Woodlands at Furman’s benefits of residency package.
The Woodlands’ Board of Directors has voted to pay these fees for residents as part of its continued effort to provide a well-rounded retirement lifestyle for its members. It is the latest major amenity created for residents in the past two months following the additions of Masterpiece Living and Life Care. This new benefit will go into effect on July 1, and gives residents no charge access to the course and campus fitness center.
The Woodlands at Furman is a non-profit, mission driven continuing care retirement community owned and operated by a local board of directors and managed professionally by Greystone Communities. The 22-acre campus, adjacent to Furman University, opened in March 2009 and consists of 132 apartment homes in addition to The Arboretum, a separate, but attached section of the Woodlands, opened in June 2009. The Arboretum includes 32 assisted living apartments, 16 memory support suites and 30 skilled nursing suites. Residents enjoy a wide range of amenities - enabling them to continue an active and engaged lifestyle. For more information, please visit www.thewoodlandsatfurman.org or call 864-371-3100.
The golf course is home to the Furman men’s and women’s teams and is ranked consistently as one of the top 30 golf courses in South Carolina. It recently reconfigured its 18 holes to include a new set of gold tees aimed at seniors, which will make a round on the course 5,738 yards. Learn more at www.furman.edu/golf.
The Furman Physical Activities Center (called the PAC for short on campus) includes state-of-the art fitness equipment, racquetball courts, a 25-yard saltwater pool, a therapy pool, group exercise programs and personal trainers. Learn more at www.furmanfitness.com.
