Bring Your Appetite for 3rd Annual Viva la Vista
WHAT: Always a destination for arts, entertainment and a great meal, Columbia’s Congaree Vista is hosting its third annual epicurean event to give the Southeast a taste of its award-winning restaurants. Viva la Vista, which is free and open to the public, will provide an open and creative environment for visitors to expand their palates by sampling Southern and international cuisine and wine and beer.
After huge success, Viva la Vista is the Congaree Vista’s newest signature event. This year’s visitors can look forward to another wallet-friendly day of sampling the best food Columbia has to offer.
WHEN: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, September 25
WHERE: The Congaree Vista, in and around the Gervais street corridor. Check in at www.vivalavistasc.com for a list of participating restaurants, gastronomic events, and shopping opportunities as they become available.
SPECIAL: Free parking in all three Vista garages.
Last year’s dishes included:
- Pimento-stuffed sausage with Adluh grits for $1 by 300 Senate
- Mini osso buco for $3 by Ristorante Divino
- Organic pizza by Z Pizza
- Kid-friendly candy apples for $2 and boiled peanuts for $3 by Cromer’s
Vista favorites Cupcake, Gervais & Vine, Saki Tumi and Ruth’s Chris are expected among the over 25 restaurants participating.
MORE: Cooking demonstrations, live entertainment, artisanal beers, family-friendly activities and more will please visitors of all ages. Food items are available for $1 - $5 each. Local celebrity judges will award prizes for Best Food and Best Booth.
