Cromer's 75th Anniversary Finale
Cromer’s, the South Carolina institution for flavored popcorn and the state snack, peanuts, is getting back to their roots with a day of old-fashioned fun on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at their 1700 Huger Street location. The celebration is a culmination of their 75th anniversary festivities.
Popcorn, snow cones and cotton candy will be available for $1, and of course, Cromer’s famous peanuts will be in abundance.
In addition to delicious food, there will be activities for everyone. The Palmetto A’s will be on hand showing off their Model A’s and even selling peanuts out of one of the vehicles. Even The Farmer’s Shed, which was featured on The Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, is coming to Columbia. Jarrett’s Jungle will have some beautiful seasonal plants and flowers at the market as well, and Amick Junction will play bluegrass all morning.
There will even be a bake-off, with categories for sweet and savory treats. The winning prize will be a $75 gift certificate to Cromer’s. Bake-off participants need to register by Wednesday, July 28 by calling Cromer’s at (803) 779-2290.
