Southeastern Products Earns Forest Stewardship Council Certification
Greenville, SC – Southeastern Products, Inc., one of the nation’s premier retail décor and fixture companies has been awarded the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody (COC) certification through Scientific Certification Systems (SCS).
Established in 1993 as a response to concerns over global deforestation, the FSC is widely regarded as one of the most important initiatives of the last decade to promote responsible forest management worldwide.
FSC is a certification system that provides internationally recognized standard setting trademark assurance and accreditation services to companies, organizations, and communities interested in responsible forestry. FSC chain of custody (COC) tracks material through the production process from the forest to the consumer, including all successive stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing and distribution.
Only FSC COC certified operations are allowed to label products with the FSC trademarks. The FSC label thus provides the link between responsible production and consumption and enables the consumer to make socially and environmentally responsible purchasing decisions.
SCS is an independent third-party certifier of environmental, sustainability, food quality and food purity claims. Its programs span a wide cross-section of the economy, recognizing accomplishments in the fields of green building, product manufacturing, forestry, retail, agricultural production, fisheries, energy, and food processing and handling.
