Southeastern Products Earns Specialty Graphic Imaging Association Certification

Greenville, SC – Southeastern Products, Inc., one of the nation’s premier retail décor and fixture companies has been accepted as a member of the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA).
“SGIA membership links Southeastern with the global specialty graphics business community and helps equip our company with the tools necessary to compete in a rapidly-changing industry that is becoming more environmentally friendly in every aspect,” says Southeastern Products Vice President of Sales and Business Development Brett Myers.
Vendors of specialty graphics like Southeastern are helping promote a more ecologically sustainable approach to production which company executives say is among the most important qualities of Southeastern.
“Our firm takes great care to look for materials that are manufactured from processes designed to maximize stewardship of the environment,” adds Evan Powell, VP of engineering and client relations at Southeastern.
Southeastern is gaining recognition in the industry for its environmentally responsible production efforts. SPI recently received the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody (COC) certification through Scientific Certification Systems (SCS). The FSC is widely regarded as one of the most important initiatives of the last decade to promote responsible forest management worldwide.
Southeastern is also a member of the USGBC and is dedicated to design and construction practices that are more cost effective, reduce the negative impacts of building, and improve the well being of those living or working or shopping in the facility. The USGBC is best known for its development of the LEED green building rating system.
SGIA is elevating its support of eco-friendly industry practices. The organization now offers a Sustainable Green Printing (SGP) Partnership certification program which assists specialty imaging companies in their efforts to incorporate green measures in their business practices.
SGIA, a non-profit worldwide association for the imaging community, exists to provide imaging professionals with the know-how, advice and knowledge they need to succeed. The organization was established more than 60 years ago as The Screen Printing Association. Today, SGIA has over 4,000 imagers and suppliers from more than 80 countries, and is the only international association for specialty graphics. It provides its members with the latest information driving the industry, such as emerging markets, government regulations, and technological developments.
