SCRA Forms Strategic Advisory Group
to Further Serve Federal Agency Business Needs
CHARLESTON, SC – JULY 1, 2010 – SCRA, a South Carolina-based global leader in applied research and commercialization, has formed a Strategic Advisory Group, comprised of high-level thought leaders who represent the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security, as well as large industry, small business and the venture capital investment community. The Group members’ extensive experience and deep knowledge of the Federal market and national security issues and requirements will assist in execution of SCRA’s long-term strategic business plan.
The SCRA Strategic Advisory Group members are:
• Vice Admiral Albert J. Baciocco, Jr., USN (Ret.)
• Christopher D. Brady, Chairman and Managing Director, The Chart Group
• Lieutenant General Lawrence P. Farrell, Jr., USAF (Ret) President of the National Defense Industrial Association
• Hon. George W, Foresman, former Undersecretary with the US Department of Homeland Security
• Thomas F. Hash, former President of Bechtel National, Inc.
• Darryl K. Horne, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Horne International, Inc.
• Admiral Timothy J. Keating, USN (Ret.)
• General Barry R. McCaffrey, USA (Ret.), President of BR McCAFFREY Associates, LLC
• General Charles E. Wilhelm, USMC (Ret.)
Through long-standing partnerships, SCRA has implemented successful business outcomes for multiple mission-oriented Federal government agencies. Examples include a military e-commerce system and a large, ordnance technology consortium. SCRA has developed and delivered important innovations for its Federal and corporate clients in advanced maritime technologies, advanced materials, health care, interoperability and clean energy.
SCRA–led teams develop and deliver innovative solutions to solve complex client challenges. Its applied research and commercialization programs, Innovation Centers and research parks have generated a cumulative economic contribution of more than $13.7B to South Carolina since its inception in 1983.
