Riley Receives Accreditation in Public Relations Designation
COLUMBIA (July 14, 2010) — Riley Communications, a full service Columbia-based public relations and marketing firm, is pleased to announce that Jacque Riley, founder and CEO, has received her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) designation from the Public Relations Society of America. Awarded to just over 4,000 practitioners nationally, this professional certification marks an industry practitioner’s strong commitment to the public relations profession. “The APR designation really reflects a commitment to PR best practices and continuing education,” said Riley. “I’m just proud to join the club!”
Established in 1964, the APR designation is the only national post-graduate public relations certification program in the industry. It measures a public relations practitioner’s fundamental knowledge of communications theory and its application; establishes advanced capabilities in research, strategic planning, implementation and evaluation; and demonstrates a commitment to professional excellence and ethical conduct. The skills acquired through the process are applicable to any industry or practice area. The Universal Accreditation Board oversees the APR Program and the designation must be maintained completing continuing education programs.
