Fuel Cell Challenge Competition Deadline is Friday, July 30th
Calling all research universities, research teams, student entrepreneurship teams, and faculty
The USC-Columbia Fuel Cell Collaborative is excited to announce a new clean energy innovation competition. In an effort to continue South Carolina's growing leadership in clean energy innovation and commercialization, the Collaborative is launching a nationwide business planning competition focused on identifying and commercializing innovative technologies in hydrogen and fuel cells.
The Fuel Cell Challenge is a $200,000 business plan competition that seeks to identify, evaluate, and fund novel and commercially viable innovations in hydrogen and fuel cell technology. Award winners will receive up to $100,000 in startup capital, business support services, and access to the wide array of research and commercialization resources in the Columbia region. The competition is a joint project by EngenuitySC, SCRA, SC Launch, the University of South Carolina, and the City of Columbia.
The competition is open to all researchers, entrepreneurs, students, faculty, and research staff working to develop innovative hydrogen, fuel cell, and related technologies. Student teams in engineering, chemistry, advanced materials, and nanotechnology as well as cross functional proposals integrating technology, research, and business teams are encouraged to apply.
Preliminary submissions are now due by July 30, 2010. Don't miss this opportunity to jumpstart your business!
