ReWa’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report Wins Award for 17th Consecutive Year
Greenville, S.C. (July 26, 2010) – For the seventeenth consecutive year Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its 2009 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
The CAFR award recognizes ReWa for clearly communicating its financial story and its ability to motivate potential users to read the piece. Impartial, experienced panels of judges are selected analyze the Annual Financial Reports.
The CAFR award is presented annually by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada. The award is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA)
The purpose of the Government Finance Officers Association is to enhance and promote the professional management of governments for the public benefit by identifying and developing financial policies and best practices and promoting their use through education, training, facilitation of member networking, and leadership. The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,400 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, IL, and Washington, D.C.
Renewable Water Resources (ReWa)
ReWa’s goal is to promote a cleaner environment, and to protect the public health and water quality of the Upstate waterways, while providing and developing the necessary sewer infrastructure for the growing economy. ReWa serves more than 400,000 industrial, commercial and residential customers in Greenville County and parts of Anderson, Spartanburg, Pickens and Laurens Counties.
