Central Carolina Community Foundation to Hold Annual Celebration to Honor Community Champions

Central Carolina Community Foundation will hold its annual celebration on September 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Leaside, 100 Exchange Place in Columbia.

New to this year’s signature event, The Foundation and Columbia Metropolitan Magazine will announce the 2010 Best of Philanthropy Awards. These awards will recognize individuals who are dedicated to community service and philanthropy. There will be winners in five different categories, honoring these community champions with a $500 donation made in their name to the charity of their choice.

In addition, The Foundation will announce the recipients of The David W. Robinson Catalyst Awards. This award recognizes nonprofit organizations in The Foundation’s 11-county service area that have exemplified leadership, creativity, vision and commitment in addressing critical community issues. The selected organization will receive a $3,000 unrestricted grant and a recognition plaque.

Tickets are $25 each and are available for purchase at www.yourfoundation.org. The awards will be presented at 7:00 p.m. There will also be a cocktail reception, heavy hors d’oeuvres, music and dancing.

Each attendee will have the opportunity to enter a drawing to have a $50 donation made in their name to the charity of their choice in The Foundation’s 11-county service area. The Foundation will draw five winners.
