InSite Finalizes Target Industry Study for Randolph County
GREER, SOUTH CAROLINA – August 18, 2010 - InSite Consulting, LLC recently released the findings of Randolph County’s Competitive Assessment and Target Industry Study. The study, initiated by the Randolph County Economic Development Corporation, involved more than 150 community leaders and identified three primary target sectors that meet the location strengths of Randolph County. Additional recommendations in the study included the development of a new business park, taking full advantage of excess water and sewer capacity in the area, and positioning Randolph County as a location for renewable energy / recycling companies.
Their analysis, based on projected business growth in both the United States and North Carolina plus the county’s strengths, revealed strengths in transportation, infrastructure capacity, Randolph Community College, and superior local government cooperation. “The InSite team did a great job on our Target Industry Study,” said Bonnie Renfro, President of the Randolph County EDC. “Our community now has the strategic economic development roadmap aligned with our competitive position and ready to implement.”
