Cromer's Returns to Williams-Brice Stadium

Cromer’s, the South Carolina institution for flavored popcorn and the state snack, peanuts, is pleased to be back at Williams-Brice Stadium. This announcement comes on the heels of Cromer’s 75th anniversary celebration and just in time for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks’ 2010 Football Season.

Cromer’s will be selling their famous roasted and boiled peanuts at the stadium. And tailgaters, be on the look out for the Cromer’s crew – they’ll be looking for the Worst Tailgate in Town at each home game. Contestants must have Cromer’s popcorn and peanuts at their tailgate and the winner will receive a Cromer’s prize pack.

“We are so excited to be back at Williams-Brice Stadium,” says Carolette Cromer Turner, Cromer’s president and owner and granddaughter of Julian Cromer, founder of Cromer’s. “Since our roots are in Columbia, we want to be along side the loyal Gamecock fans.”

Look for Cromer’s when the Gamecocks kick off on September 2nd. If can’t make it to the game, you can still visit Cromer’s on 1700 Huger Street to pick-up Gamecock gear, peanuts and even some Carolina Crunch, Cromer’s signature garnet and black popcorn. For all the Clemson fans, make sure to pick up the orange and purple Tiger Bites.

About Cromer’s
Cromer’s celebrated 75 Years of Good Times and the Worst in 2010, embracing a resilient history framed by the Great Depression and current recession. What started as a one-man peanut stand grew into a multi-faceted South Carolina institution when founder Julian Cromer responded to competitors’ claims that he had the worst peanuts in town with a tongue-in-cheek cardboard sign proclaiming just that. Now helmed by granddaughter Carolette Cromer Turner, Cromer’s specializes in creative flavors of popcorn, all kind of peanuts, promotional items, and equipment and supplies for festive staples such as candy apples and cotton candy.
