Caine Halter Lungs4Life Run/Walk to be Held Nov. 13

Event has raised nearly $300,000 for lung cancer research

Saturday, Nov. 13 marks the third annual Caine Halter Lungs4Life 5K Run/Walk, 1 Mile Fun Walk, and FREE Children’s Little Lungs Fun Run.

The event, which raises money for lung cancer research, will be held at the Caine Halter YMCA in Greenville. The 5K Run/Walk will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the 1-Mile Fun Walk will begin at 9 a.m. The ¼ mile Fun Run for children will be held at 8:45 a.m. Advanced registration fees for the event are $25 for the Run/Walk and $15 for the Fun Walk. The Children’s Little Lungs Fun Run is free– children need only to show up the day of the event.

During the past two years, more than 3,000 people have participated in the event, raising nearly $300,000 for Uniting Against Lung Cancer, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for lung cancer. The race is held in memory of Caine Halter, an active member of the Greenville community who lost a battle with lung cancer in August 2007 at the age of 45. He was a non-smoker.

Individuals, families and teams are encouraged register at or through the Lungs4Life Facebook page.
