NonProfit Fundamentals Develops Valuable Training Tool for Small to Medium Sized Nonprofits

NonProfit Fundamentals has developed Strategizing for NonProfit Growth™, a comprehensive disc-based training tool for non-profit organizations looking to enhance their performance in this challenging economy.

“Many non-profits are struggling to survive in the wake of the Great Recession,” said Richard Almes, a principal with NonProfit Fundamentals and owner of Almes Productions in Charleston. “Their constituents are clamoring for more services, resources and programs than ever before. Yet many of these groups are confused on just what methods they need to employ to sustain or better yet grow their bottom lines to support their missions.”

Led by Judy Almand, a 20-year non-profit industry veteran with senior positions with the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association among her credentials, the five sessions cover key areas that determine the success or failure of a non-profit organization. Using experience as her guide, Almand explores theories of evaluation, planning, developing, training, and fundraising while instructing on ways to effectively apply these strategies in the non-profit sector.

According to Almand, the success or failure of a non-profit is determined long before the first dollar is ever raised. "The goal of this series is to change a non-profit’s culture from one of staff-doing to one that is staff-driven creating a real paradigm shift in the organization’s overall thinking," Almand explained. "We want them to direct traffic, not drive the bus."

The five-part series includes:

• Evaluating Your Structure - to make sure the necessary components are in place for future growth and success;
• Planning Your Future – stresses the importance of short and long term strategies for growing programs, income, board and volunteer development, donors and operations;
• Developing Your Resources – clearly defines the roles and responsibilities of the executive director, board members, staff, and volunteers;
• Training Your Executive Team – provides strategies for key staff to enhance their productivity and effectiveness; and
• Raising Your Income – building on the four previous sessions, analyzes the top sources for potential income and which ones best fit your organization and the current state of the economy.

A sixth DVD provides support materials, such as checklists, outlines, questionnaires, and other samples to implement the strategies needed for non-profit growth. The series costs $350 plus shipping and handling and is available for purchase online. By ordering the Signature Collection, consumers also receive an audio CD, Donors – Find Them. Keep Them at no additional cost.
