Central Carolina Community Foundation’s Edward Conroy Selected for Leadership Columbia
Central Carolina Community Foundation, a nonprofit organization serving 11 counties in the Midlands by helping charitable individuals and businesses meet the needs of our community, is proud to announce that Edward E. Conroy, CPA and Chief Financial Officer at the Foundation, has been selected for the 2010 – 2011 Leadership Columbia class. Conroy is one of only 65 business and community leaders selected to participate in this civic opportunity to better serve the community.
“I am really looking forward to interacting with other professionals in our community to deepen my understanding of the needs of our community. At Central Carolina Community Foundation, philanthropy in every aspect is our mission, so this opportunity will open more doors for philanthropic opportunities,” said Conroy, who is responsible for managing fund balances and investment information for the Foundation’s donors, local organizations and agency endowments.
Conroy also directs all financial and accounting functions and oversees human resources for the Foundation. Prior to joining the Community Foundation, Mr. Conroy served as the Executive VP and CFO of Fastco Threaded Products, Inc. and as a senior tax accountant at Elliott Davis, LLC. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Taxation from the University of South Carolina.
Leadership Columbia is a nine-month program sponsored by the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce. For one full day a month, class members attend sessions where local leaders of various specialties share their knowledge through lively discussion and activities that highlight real situations, needs and opportunities within the Midlands.
The mission of Leadership Columbia is to offer a program for Greater Columbia’s promising leaders that help them better understand how their community works, build relationships with fellow leaders and become inspired to focus their talents in a way which will best serve the community.
