Anson County Schools Select Mariner’s SeeChangeTM Performance Management System

SeeChangeTM Community Module Keeps District Stakeholders
Focused on Strategic Commitments

September 21, 2010 – Charlotte, NC – Anson County Schools (ACS) has selected Mariner, an industry-leading business intelligence and performance management solutions provider, to help the district convey its progress in achieving its Strategic Commitments through a district dashboard designed to:

• Communicate ACS’s organizational performance in real time in all aspects of Strategic Commitments;
• Make authentic “two-way” dialogue with staff, parents, students and community a priority;
• Map out relationships between the Strategic Commitments and the Organizational Assessments;
• Demonstrate commitment to transparency and accountability; and
• Accelerate student learning.
Superintendent Dr. Greg Firn and his leadership team see the dashboards as critical elements in delivering on their mission of “All means all,” providing each student with exactly the type of education they need to be successful in life. With grant funding, Anson County Schools has been putting together the programs and infrastructure to improve student achievement and district transparency.

“Our district is making significant progress in student achievement and we want it to continue. Using dashboards like these and sharing them with the community and School Board allow all of us to participate in the cycle of continuous improvement across the district, in every school and for every student. Our goal is really to make the invisible visible and improve operations and institutional effectiveness – everything that supports teachers and learning,” remarked Dr.Firn.

In the spring of 2010, Mariner conducted a Strategic Dashboard Envisioning project with Anson County Schools. Through this project, Mariner performed a technology infrastructure assessment, prototyped the Anson County Strategic Commitments Performance Management Dashboard, and developed a master implementation plan.

Currently, Mariner is working with Anson County Schools to create the fully-functional dashboards dedicated to each of the district’s Strategic Commitments:

1. All Anson County School students meet or exceed state and community academic learning standards;
2. The Anson County Schools are organized efficiently and effectively to ensure that all students meet or exceed state and community academic learning standards; and
3. The Anson County Schools will engage, promote, and partner with parents and community to ensure all students meet or exceed state and community academic learning standards.
Based on Mariner’s SeeChangeTM Performance Management System, Anson County Schools will use the SeeChangeTM Community module, enabling the Superintendent, Principals and teachers to communicate the district’s goals, objectives, strategic commitments and progress toward those commitments to the School Board and the community at large.
