Sandler Training Offers Free Sales Training to Returning Veterans

Sandler Training in Greenville is offering free sales training to any military person from South Carolina who has been honorably discharged from any branch of service from 2008 to 2010 and wishes to enter or re-enter the sales profession.
The training will be led by Russell Davis, internationally recognized sales expert and Principal of Sandler Training’s Greenville office. The training will provide a systematic approach to all aspects of sales, including prospecting, closing, overcoming objections, building customer relationships and managing a sales team. Russell will work with individuals and groups in the areas of attitude, behaviors and techniques through ongoing reinforcement.
“When I got out of the Army in 1972, I spent several months looking for a job in civilian life,” Davis says. “One of the many frustrations I had in my transition period was reading corporate literature that encouraged veterans to apply for work, but in reality it required experience to get hired. Now years later, that same frustration still exists, so I decided to do something to help.”
Davis says a recent conversation with a veteran of the Iraqi war reinforced his desire to help. During the conversation, Davis says the young man displayed characteristics and behaviors that were admirable.
“I saw several qualities in that young man during our conversation that any business owner or sales manager should look for in a professional sales person: commitment, passion, teamwork, preparedness, consistency, values, and a sense of humor. These concepts were embedded in the thoughts he shared with me, which just reinforced my belief that many businesses would benefit if they had a sales force with the qualities of many returning veterans.
“These brave men and women have made great sacrifices to protect our freedom,” Davis continues. “They left families, businesses and careers – putting their lives on hold to ensure that we all can lead normal lives. This training is the least I can do to help out.”
