2010 InnoVision Announces Keynote Speaker

2010 InnoVision Technology Awards Dinner

Keynote Address by James A. Moncure, II, IBM Corporation

Jim Moncure is the Worldwide Channels and General Business Executive for IBM’s Information Agenda Tiger Team. With 30 years of experience in technology, with experience at IBM, Microsoft, and running three technology firms, Jim has traveled the world working with companies in pursuit of outcome improvements. Launched two years ago, IBM began a vision of building “a Smarter Planet”.

Healthcare
Jim will discuss how advances in DNA predictive analysis is helping provide “end-of-life” predictive outcomes allowing for patients to take preventative action earlier to avoid certain consequences; predictive health systems are being used to monitor at-risk patients using real-time access data from medical devices and to provide more proactive care. Analytics are helping hospitals find new insights into care and diseases by providing analysis of data from across departments and practices.

Manufacturing
Industry has passed beyond ERPII systems and is moving quickly to flexible systems that allow for global sourcing and localized assembly. Automated reordering is morphing to predictive reordering based on social, environmental and a host of new factors that have never before been considered. The challenge to acting on innovation is accelerating as we see cycle times in manufacturing collapse and cost considerations continue to climb. Jim will discuss how these considerations have resulted in the advent of the new $1,500 Tata Motors car for the India Market, and other innovations.

Government
Jim will share how national, state and local governments are moving beyond the basics of infrastructure and homeland security and into providing new levels and new types of services targeting the improvement of education, water and utilities management, traffic flow, crime prevention, and renewable resource enhancement; all based on doing things smarter and better than before.
