The Woodlands at Furman Elects New Board Members

GREENVILLE – The Woodlands at Furman is pleased to announce new board members and leadership for 2011.

Walter Goldsmith was named president, Larry Estridge was named vice president and Ben Norwood III will serve as secretary/treasurer for the senior living community located on 22 acres adjacent to the Furman University campus.

Walter Goldsmith is a senior vice president with Davenport & Company, Larry Estridge is an attorney with Womble Carlyle in Greenville and Ben Norwood is the managing director with Nachman Norwood and Parrott Wealth Management Consultancy.

In addition, the board elected area leaders Sam Smith, Bruce Brown, Clare Morris and Tyler Smith to fill posts in 2011.

The Woodlands at Furman is a non-profit, mission driven continuing care retirement community owned and operated by a local board of directors and managed professionally by Greystone Communities. The 22-acre campus, adjacent to Furman University, opened in March 2009 and consists of 132 apartment homes in addition to The Arboretum, a separate, but attached section of the Woodlands, opened in June 2009. The Arboretum includes 32 assisted living apartments, 16 memory support suites and 30 skilled nursing suites. Residents enjoy a wide range of amenities - enabling them to continue an active and engaged lifestyle.
