Mitsubishi Polyester Film Donates Big to Greer Soup Kitchen

GREER – Employees from Mitsubishi Polyester Film wrapped a year of giving to the Greer Soup Kitchen with the delivery of $3,650 along with food and paper products today.

The $3,650 included a match from Mitsubishi Polyester Film for what its more than 600 employees raised for the Greer Soup Kitchen during the holiday season.

The donation comes on top of similar gifts in April and November when more than 70 Mitsubishi Polyester Film employees and their families took part in walks to aid the Greer Soup Kitchen, which is part of Daily Bread Ministries and has been serving the Upstate since 1990.

In April, Mitsubishi Polyester Film raised $1,000 for the non-profit organization and it was $1,500 in November. In addition, Mitsubishi Polyester Film employees donated food and paper products to be used at the soup kitchen today. All told, Mitsubishi raised $6,150 for the agency this year.

“Mitsubishi is honored to be part of the Greer community, and this was an area of need that our employees wanted to be a part of,” said Dennis Trice, president and chief operating officer of Mitsubishi Polyester Film.

The Greer Soup Kitchen is located at 521 Poinsett Street and relies completely on donations of food and money from businesses, churches and private citizens to fund its mission of providing meals to those who need them. It serves more than 150 meals each day and is open year round.
