New Business Book Released in Midlands
National Group of Entrepreneur-Authors includes 12 Midlands Business Owners
COLUMBIA, SC – January 3, 2011 – A group of seasoned entrepreneurs has co-authored a book to help fledgling business owners successfully navigate the small business world. The new book, “Killer Secrets of Successful Entrepreneurs,” has been released this week. Half of the entrepreneurs are located or have ties to the Midlands. Some of them will be in attendance at an Entrepreneurial Networking Event/Author Meet-and-Greet happening this week in Columbia.
The Author Meet-and-Greet will take place Wednesday, January 5, 2011, from 6-7:30 pm. It is hosted by the USC Columbia Technology Incubator located at 1225 Laurel Street in downtown Columbia.
The book is a collection of essays written by 22 entrepreneurs who are now successful but have been through the fires of disappointment, dejection, and failure. In these mini-lessons, they teach new entrepreneurs their greatest strategies and tactics for business success.
“Thanks to the editors of this book, the University of South Carolina/City of Columbia Technology Incubator is giving it to all of the incoming companies. The book is outstanding, and the fact it is written by Midlands business entrepreneurs is wonderful,” says Joel Stevenson, executive director of the USC/Columbia Technology Incubator.
“It is an honor to be associated with so many successful people. Their stories about entrepreneurship are inspiring, and I think that is what an entrepreneur needs most – someone to inspire him when things are down,” says Ken Gasque, president of Gasque Marketing and Advertising and one of the book’s authors.
Interested entrepreneurs can purchase the book online at www.gasque.com for $19.95 or obtain a signed copy by attending the Networking Event and Author Meet-and-Greet Wednesday. A portion of the proceeds will fund tutoring programs for adults and students who have difficulty reading.
The book is edited by Jerry Bellune, editor emeritus of the Lexington County Chronicle and includes local authors such as Ken Gasque, Cathy Lanier, Simran Singh, Greg Wych, Charlie Farrell, Jeff Ranta, Randy Lanier, and Stan Wetherell.
