The Salvation Army Kroc Center Announces Agency of Record for Marketing Efforts
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is one step closer to being completed. Having selected a local marketing firm as their agency of record, The Kroc Center will now begin planning for their grand opening events and promoting the mission and growth of the community center.
Over a period of several months, The Kroc Center’s marketing committee hosted several rounds of proposals and a round of presentations as part of the RFP process. One requirement placed on the firms presenting was that they had to have a local presence, as part of the Upstate community. After the presentation round, The Kroc Center’s committee selected as their agency of record PECULIAR, Inc., an Upstate marketing firm focused on design, marketing and interactive services.
“As part of the selection process, firms had to show that they understood the mission and vision of The Kroc Center, not just showcase their creativity. We were looking for a firm that really gets the concept of what The Kroc Center is and why we’re here in Greenville,” said Major Bobby Lancaster of The Salvation Army.
“Joan Kroc’s vision was to create a place of opportunities and possibilities for people of all ages and means,” said Tim Pecoraro, CEO of PECULIAR. “By extending to them a world that was otherwise beyond their reach, Joan Kroc set out to build community, not just community centers. The practical application of this vision is a facility centered around diverse people, culture, and recreation.”
The Kroc Center is on schedule for a Grand Opening event in mid-2011. Their work with PECULIAR begins immediately with the focus on implementing the campaign concepts they presented during the RFP process.
