Ellis Lawhorne’s Lee and Walker recognized as Emerging Legal Leaders by South Carolina Lawyers Weekly

COLUMBIA, S.C., January 20, 2011 - - South Carolina Lawyers Weekly has named two Ellis Lawhorne attorneys as finalists in the first annual Emerging Legal Leaders Awards. Jonathan P. Lee and Breon C. M. Walker are among 18 attorneys from across the state selected as finalists. The winners will be announced at a gala reception January 27 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

The Emerging Legal Leaders Awards recognize attorneys who have been licensed for ten years or less and who are making a difference in the legal profession and in their communities.

Lee is a member of the Ellis Lawhorne Trusts and Estates Practice Group and counsels clients in the areas of estate and trust administration, wealth transfer planning and post-death tax planning. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of South Carolina (USC) Moore School of Business, graduating cum laude. He earned his Juris Doctor from the USC School of Law and LL.M. in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law. Lee is a member of the American Bar Association, South Carolina Bar, the Richland County Bar Association, the American Agricultural Law Association, Columbia Tax Study Group, Columbia Estate Planning Council, and is a 2010 graduate of Leadership Columbia.

Walker is a member of the Ellis Lawhorne Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group, where she focuses her practice on motor vehicle liability, premises liability, product liability, and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Ellis Lawhorne, Walker practiced in both the civil and criminal divisions of the South Carolina Office of the Attorney General. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina Honors College and her Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in
2003. Walker is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the Richland County Bar Association. She is a member of the 2011 Class of Leadership Columbia.
