Business leaders are invited to attend a strategy development workshop “Goal-Driven!” from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Thursday, February 24. The session is being organized by Leadership Management Institute (LMI) and led by Nancy Eichstadt, President & CEO of The Carolina Leadership Group, LLC.
The workshop will focus on helping businesses achieve greater results by identifying high-payoff activities, setting SMART goals, developing a Plan of Action, and establishing metrics to measure progress and results. A recent McKinsey & Company global study reported that a mere 8 percent of companies engage in corporate strategy development on an ongoing basis and only 6% rate their companies approaches to strategy development as “very effective” and their profit margins higher than those of competitors. Executives at these companies spend more time developing strategy, review strategies more frequently, and are much better at eliminating barriers to implementation.
“It is precisely during this challenging economic climate that leaders need to possess the ability to strategically lead their company with a clearly defined sense of direction,” Eichstadt says. “One of the primary responsibilities of senior executives is to successfully lead their organizations to sustainable long-term growth. Yet, on average, less than 3% of their time is devoted to strategy and in some companies, the figure is less than 1%. This leaves the door wide open on being able to achieve greater results and outperform competition.”
Eichstadt possesses more than 25 years of experience in start-up and turn-around situations with large Fortune 500 companies such as Dow Chemical, Georgia-Pacific, and Sealed Air Corp.
