The Nickelodeon Theatre Celebrates the Oscars with Annual Party and Showing of The King’s Speech
COLUMBIA, S.C. (February 17, 2011) — The Nickelodeon Theatre, South Carolina’s only non-profit, art house theater, will host its annual Oscar Party on Sunday, February 27. The event, which has developed a following among both film lovers and local fashionistas, will be hosted by local celebrities Patti O’Furniture and The Shop Tart.
Doors open at 7:00 p.m. for red carpet arrivals and pre-show commentary. Prizes will be awarded for the best red carpet looks. Guests can enjoy beer, wine, signature drinks and heavy hors d’oeuvres, and then settle in to watch the Oscars on the Nick’s big screen at 8:00 p.m.
Only a few seats remain for the Oscar Party. Prices start at $35 for members and $40 for non-members. Call 803-254-8234 today to reserve tickets.
Academy Award-nominated film, The King’s Speech, will play at the Nick from February 25 through March 10.
“We thoroughly enjoy the Oscar Party every year,” said the Nick’s Executive Director, Larry Hembree. “It’s the best party in town, but only 75 of our closest friends get to join us. We can’t wait to hold an even bigger Oscar Party next year in our new home on Main Street.”
