Oak Ridge National Laboratory to Showcase Promising Technologies at Bridging The Gap – April 5-6, 2011

The Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and the Center for Entrepreneurial Growth (CEG) announces Bridging The Gap; a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs and investors to hear about promising new technologies developed at ORNL, America’s largest science and energy lab. ORNL is seeking 100 highly motivated entrepreneurs and investors to attend this free event on the world class ORNL campus. Tom Rogers with the ORNL Partnerships Directorate says, “ORNL is deeply committed to insuring that our basic research finds a home in the commercial marketplace.” “Entrepreneurs provide a unique value in the technology transfer process,” according to John Morris, Director for the CEG. “They have the ability to be very efficient with capital and they can mitigate much of the technical and market risk in new technologies.” Bridging the Gap is the perfect opportunity to match technology with those who know how to create value in a market.

On April 5, the CEG will present a technology showcase of six premier technologies. These technologies have been validated recently by a panel of 26 entrepreneurs and investors as being well positioned for licensing and commercialization. The showcase is much more than the typical review and demonstration of technology. Each presentation includes in depth market research and a recommendation of likely business models to provide a pathway to the market. The researchers and inventors will be on hand to demonstrate the technology and answer technical questions.

On April 6, attendees will have to opportunity to choose among 12 technology topics that offer direct engagement with leading researchers who are among the best in the world.

Bridging The Gap registration is limited to 100 people and the list is filling fast. To register click on this link: https://www.ornl.gov/partnerships/btgregister
