May 24--Newberry-- Growing Wood Products Exports
Forest product companies and timber owners in South Carolina and neighboring states will be able to learn how to grow or diversify their businesses through exporting at a Wood Products Export Seminar on May 24 in Newberry, S.C.
“We have a goal of growing our industry significantly over the next few years and exports will be key to that growth,” said Gene Kodama, State Forester and agency director for the S.C. Forestry Commission, which is organizing the event.
The seminar on Tuesday, May 24 will focus on fundamental issues of exporting along with presentations in key export areas including wood chips, logs, poles, and lumber. There will be discussions on top export markets for forest products from the Southeast as well as on logistics, financing and resources available to exporters.
