MTC Senior Vice President for Business Affairs Ron Rhames Elected President of SACUBO

Dr. Ronald L. Rhames, Midlands Technical College Senior Vice President for Business Affairs, has been elected president of the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers (SACUBO). Rhames will serve a one-year term as president of the organization’s board of directors.

Rhames is the chief financial officer for Midlands Technical College and manages the college’s accounting and finance operations, physical plant operations, human resources, auxiliary and support services and information technology.

Rhames is on the board of directors for the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) and is a past president of Community College Business Officers (CCBO) and the South Carolina Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).

Rhames earned an associate degree from Midlands Technical College, a bachelor’s degree from Benedict College, a master’s degree from Central Michigan University, and a doctorate from Nova Southeastern University.

SACUBO
SACUBO was founded in 1928 to inform higher education institutions in the southern region of the United States of issues that affect higher education. The purpose of the association is to foster, develop, and promote improved principles and efficient practices in the business and financial management of colleges and universities. SACUBO is one of four regional associations that constitute the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO).

Midlands Technical College
Midlands Technical College is a comprehensive, multi-campus, public, two-year college serving the primary region of Richland, Lexington and Fairfield counties of South Carolina. The college enrolls approximately 18,000 credit students annually, and provides continuing education to 30,000 individuals and hundreds of area businesses each year.
