BMW North America’s Steinberg Named Keynote Speaker
for InnoMobility 2011 Global Conference
BMW supports Steinberg, signs on as conference sponsor
Greenville, S.C. – Rich Steinberg, the man responsible for the 450 MINI E vehicle’s U.S. deployment in 2009, has been named a keynote speaker for the InnoMobility 2011 Global Conference.
As the manager for electric vehicle (EV) operations and strategy for BMW North America, Steinberg is currently preparing for the launch of the next EV from the BMW Group, the BMW ActiveE. The ActiveE is scheduled to arrive later this year in Boston, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento, Calif., and the New York metro area including Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. All of the BMW Group EV programs are a part of project i, which was established in 2007 to address the mobility needs of people living in the world’s MegaCities.

The conference will be held at the TD Convention Center, formerly known as the Carolina First Center, in Greenville from Oct. 18-19, 2011. Confirmed speakers include Anthony Jannarelly, iMo concept designer and Michelin Challenge Design 2010 finalist, Kal Gyimesi, automotive leader at IBM, and Jay Baron, president and CEO of the Center for Automotive Research.
Prior to the global conference, a community forum will be held at the Carroll A. Campbell Graduate Engineering Center Auditorium on the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research campus in Greenville on August 19.
