Gateway To Government Contracting: The Process, Your Firm And The SBDC

Ready, Set, Sell! The federal government purchases millions of dollars worth of products and services from small businesses each year. Attendees of this workshop will gain the necessary tools to assist them in better understanding the federal government as a marketplace. From Government contracting basics to locating opportunities, participants will gain the knowledge of where and how to start in addition to information on the process of getting registered to sell to federal government agencies. Special emphasis will be on the new Woman-owned Set-aside program and Service-Disabled Set-aside program plus Veteran-owned business subcontracting programs.

The Greenville Area Office of the Clemson University Small Business Development Center invites you to attend “Gateway to Government Contracting; The Process, Your Firm, and the SBDC” presented by Sherry Pittinger.

The workshop will be held at Clemson at the Falls (55 East Camperdown Way, Greenville, SC 29601, Classroom 1-B) on Wednesday, August 10th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Registration begins at 8:30 am. Light refreshments will be provided ( pre-registration is required).

About Sherry Pittinger:
Sherry Pittinger is an Air Force Veteran and has over 36 years experience working with the United State Air Force, first on active duty and then in the Air Force Civilian Career Program. Ms. Pittinger was a Contracting Officer for several years and negotiated multi-million dollar contracts with the largest one being in excess of $100 million. For the seven years leading up to her retirement, she served as the Director of Small Business at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. Ms. Pittinger worked on a variety of Small Business Programs in coordination with the Office of the Under Secretary of the Air Force at the Pentagon as well as with the Small Business Administration.
