How to Motivate and Retain Millennials in the Workplace

Human resource management professionals from across the Carolinas and Georgia will meet at the TD Convention Center in Greenville on Tuesday, August 23 for the 13th Annual HR Management Conference hosted by the Greenville Society of Human Resource Management (GSHRM).

Best-selling author and noted management training consultant Dr. Bob Nelson will deliver two general session addresses: the first about applying the African principles of Ubuntu to obtain new levels of focus, excitement and results at work; the second about motivating and retaining Millennials in the workplace. Nelson has sold more than 3 million books on topics of management and motivation, including “1001 Ways to Reward Employees” (now in its 2nd edition and 54th printing); “The 1001 Rewards and Recognition Fieldbook;” “1001 Ways to Take Initiative at Work” and more.

Other general session presentations include:

1) James Byrd, Deputy Director of the S.C. Department of Insurance, Consumer Service and Agent Licensing, will discuss the impact of the next phase of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the anticipated changes in the way medical benefits are structured and provided in South Carolina.

2) A panel of employment law attorneys will discuss the latest legal trends and resulting compliance obligations and best practices for HR professionals, including the impact of the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision in Wal-Mart v. Dukes on pay and promotional discrimination claims.

The one-day conference includes four general session addresses and an opportunity to attend two out of six breakout sessions. Breakfast, lunch and refreshments are included in the registration fee.
