Clemson at the Falls Announces Week Long Leadership Summit
Clemson at the Falls, an extension of Clemson University’s College of Business and Behavioral Science located in downtown Greenville, announced a five-day Leadership Summit taking place August 8–12 that is designed to enhance, reinforce and advance organizations’ leadership programs.
Each year, representatives from companies such as Michelin, BMW Manufacturing, Hubbell Lighting, Carolinas Healthcare Systems and BB&T identify the Summit’s topics and issues. Industry leaders and Clemson academic experts will lead interactive, experiential and immersive sessions throughout the week for participants. Participants will study five pillars of leadership: integrity, objectivity, creativity, courage and passion.
“This was a great opportunity for me as an individual to connect with leaders from different companies as well as the community,” said Diane Beagle, Engineering Manager at GE Energy and member of the Leadership Class of 2010.
This year, Leadership Summit participants will have a unique team building opportunity, gaining hands-on experience with high-performance teams at the BMW Performance Center. Also, in a real-world experience, participants will apply what they are learning to a project that will benefit a community in the tri-state area. On the final day of the Leadership Summit, each team will present its results to key community leaders and other senior executives.
Participants will gain team-derived strategies to address an existing community problem or opportunity, enhance creative and objective decision making skills and achieve experiential learning through a diverse high performing work team.
“The thing that absolutely set this Leadership Summit apart from any other training was that it involved real people, with real situations, with real leadership opportunities,” said Mike Williams of Michelin Supply Chain Management.
