CU-ICAR to host, webcast U.S. House subcommittee field hearing - August 16
GREENVILLE — Clemson University will host members of the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce for a field hearing Aug. 16 that will bring key legislative leaders to the Upstate.
The hearing will be streamed live on the Internet at www.Clemson.edu.
The Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR) will host the subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Training for a field hearing titled “Reviving our Economy: The Role of Higher Education in Job Growth and Development.”
The field hearing will begin at 1 p.m. in the Carolina First Gallery and last for approximately two hours.
Confirmed attendees include chairwoman of the subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Training, Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C.; Education and the Workforce committee member Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C.; and Clemson University President James F. Barker. Other university officials and businesses leaders are expected to attend.
Gowdy, who represents South Carolina's Fourth District, was instrumental in bringing the field hearing to the Upstate.
CU-ICAR is located at 5 Research Drive in Greenville.
