Michelin R&D Head Terry Gettys Named Keynote Speaker
for InnoMobility 2011 Global Conference

Greenville, S.C. – Terry Gettys, director of research and development for the Michelin Group and a member of the company’s executive council, has been named as a keynote speaker for the InnoMobility 2011 Global Conference.

Gettys has served as the company’s head of worldwide research and development since May 2007. Since joining Michelin in 1979, Gettys has held various positions in Michelin’s product research and development organizations, both in North America and at the Michelin Group Technology Centre in France. Prior to his current role, he was chief operating officer for Michelin Americas Research Company (MARC) in Greenville.

“Breakthrough ideas for new products and business models don’t happen in a vacuum, but are most often the result of extensive conversation and collaboration among companies and organizations of all sizes,” said Gettys. “The InnoMobility Conference gives Michelin the opportunity to participate in those conversations and help shape those ideas.”

The conference will be held at the TD Convention Center, formerly known as the Carolina First Center, in Greenville from Oct. 18-19, 2011. Confirmed speakers include Anthony Jannarelly, iMo concept designer and Michelin Challenge Design 2010 finalist, Kal Gyimesi, automotive leader at IBM, Jay Baron, president and CEO of the Center for Automotive Research, Susan Zielinski, managing director of SMART, Gordon Feller, director of urban innovation at Cisco Systems, John Mindel, senior associate at Furman University and Rich Steinberg of BMW North America.
