The greatest gap in SAT scores of SC students is among those with the most educated parents

There is a persistent myth in South Carolina that SAT scores are low because a high percentage of SC students take the test or because we have large percentage of students in poverty. The reality is that the more educated a SC student's parents, the greater the gap in SAT scores relative to US peers. The gap between SC student's SAT scores and US peers is greater at the top than it is at the bottom.

I agree with Steve. John, where did this data come from?

The statistic referenced that the more educated a SC student's parents are, the greater the potential for their SAT scores to be below their U.S. peers is astonishing. I would love to see the complete study, the size of the population studied and the number of years this phenomenon has been observed.
