Clemson University to host statewide BioEnergy Summit - October 6

FLORENCE — Clemson’s Pee Dee Research and Education Center and the S.C. Biomass Council will host the 2011 annual S.C. BioEnergy Summit from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6.

This year’s summit, which is free and open to the public, will have presentations on education for a sustainable future, bioenergy in action, industry research and bioenergy’s role in rural economic development.

Guest speakers include Bob Long, general manager of resource planning for SCANA Corp.; Tim Adams, director of the resource development division at the S.C. Forestry Commission; and Jeff Novak, U.S. Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service soil scientist.
