Florence-Darlington Technical College Wins $20 Millon Jobs Training Grant
Florence-Darlington Technical College has won a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Labor and will be the lead college administering the nearly 20 million dollars for a consortium of 10 South Carolina colleges. FDTC joins eight other technical colleges and Clemson University in the consortium.
The grant called the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training program was officially announced by South Carolina Sixth District Congressman James E. Clyburn.
The grant will provide grants to support partnerships between community colleges and employers to develop programs that provide pathways to good jobs.
The grant will develop 37 online courses in foundational math, science and technology for dislocated, unemployed workers in a 29 county region.
