Chapin Chamber Accepting Nominations for Annual Awards

The Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for Business Person of the Year, Non-Profit Organization of the Year and the Annie Epting Volunteer of the Year. The winners will be recognized at the Chamber’s Annual Gala and Awards benefit on Friday, November 18th, beginning at 6:30 pm at Timberlake Country Club.

The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, November 1st. For nomination guidelines, please call or email the Chamber at 803-345-1100 or president@chapinchamber.com.

Last year, Hewitt Grant of Ellett Brothers was named Business Person of the Year, Thurston and Judy Chavis were named the Annie Epting Volunteers of the Year, and David Knight received a special Lifetime Achievement Award for his service with the Chamber, the Town of Chapin, Adopt-a-Highway, Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church and the Chapin Labor Day Festival.

In addition to the annual awards recognition, the evening will celebrate the Chamber’s 20-year history and provide participants with a look back at the many accomplishments the community has achieved over the last two decades. There also will be a silent auction featuring a variety of items, such as artwork, jewelry, trips and other specialty items donated by members of the community to help support vital Chamber programs. Of particular note, there will be a baseball signed by USC baseball coach Ray Tanner.

Tickets for the gala are $35 per person and available at the Chamber House, located at 302 Columbia Avenue in downtown Chapin. For more information, please call 803.345.1100 or visit www.chapinchamber.org.
