Family Connection Announces November Events
Columbia, S.C.— Family Connection of South Carolina, a parent-to-parent network for families of children with special needs, hosts a number of monthly events and meetings to keep families connected and provide a fun outlet for their children. Family Connection has some exciting and fun events planned this November including:
Lego Club
Thursday, November 3 and 17 from 4:30 to 5:30 at the Family Connection office. Bring your child and legos; everyone is welcome.
Asperger/ADHD Connection
Thursday, November 3 from 6:00 to 7:30 at the Family Connection office.
Workshop: “How to Plan for the Future of your Child with Special Needs”
Friday, November 4 from 6:00 to 7:30 at the Logan Elementary School Cafeteria. Topics Covered: Eligibility for SSI and Medicaid, Review of Guardian, Conservatorship, and Special Needs Trust. RSVP to Vanessa at (803) 252-0914.
Kid Connection
Saturday, November 5 from 10:00 to 1:30. Free, fun activities for children ages 8-12 who have a sibling with a disability. Call Susan at (803) 252-0914 for registration and location.
Morning Coffee
Thursday, November 10 at 9:00 a.m. at Cracker Barrel (Sandhills, NE Columbia). Tell hostess you are with Family Connection.
Down Syndrome Playgroup
Saturday, November 12 from 1:00 to 3:00 at the Family Connection office. All children affected by Down Syndrome and their siblings are welcome.
Autism Connection
Monday, November 21 from 6:00 to 7:30 at the Family Connection office. Connect with parents who are raising children with Autism.
“SMILES” Mom’s Night Out
Monday, November 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Flight Deck (109-A Old Chapin Road, Lexington SC 29170). For moms of children with special needs.
Sumter Connection
Tuesday, November 29 at 10:00 a.m. at McDonald’s (1060 Broad Street, Sumter SC 29150).
Boy Scout Troop Meeting
Monday, November 7, 14, and 28 from 6:30 to 7:30 at the Family Connection office. Our troop strives to accommodate boys and girls with special needs, their siblings, and friends. For more information call (803) 252-0914.
