“TEDxGreenville 2012: Breakthrough” Event Seeks Nominations for Speakers and Performers

Greenville, SC — Organizers of the popular TEDxGreenville 2010 and 2011 conference have begun announcing important details about the much-anticipated 2012 event.

The 2012 conference will be held at the Peace Center’s Gunter Theatre in downtown Greenville on Friday, March 30. The theme of this year’s event is “Breakthrough,” representative of the event’s overall message.

“Individually and collectively, we all strive to ‘break through’ whatever challenges we face in order to go to the next level or to turn an idea into a success story. We want this event to serve as a catalyst for more ‘breakthroughs’ happening in this community,” says Brenda Laakso, Vice President of NEXT, the organization that licenses Greenville’s independently organized TEDx event from the TED organization in Monterey, California.

TEDxGreenville is a non-profit event that relies on volunteers and sponsors who believe in the TED mission of spreading great ideas. The first two TEDxGreenville events sold out quickly and received accolades from those who attended. Conference organizers are now seeking nominations from the public for speakers and performers for the 2012 event.

“We want help from the public to create a ‘breakthrough’ event that moves this community forward, and we need people to start nominating great presenters today,” says Laakso.
