Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood Selected for East Lincoln Community Park Nature Trail Master Plan and Community Center Addition

Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc. is pleased to announce that the firm has been selected to create a new nature trail master plan for East Lincoln Community Park as well as an addition to the adjacent East Lincoln Community Center located in the city of Denver, North Carolina. These plans will allow Lincoln County Parks & Recreation to more effectively coordinate its fundraising, projects, programs and activities.

The design of the trail, which will be a natural progression of Lincoln County’s portion of the Carolina Thread Trail, includes trail entrance, foot bridges at wet areas, new planting, strategically placed benches, covered bulletin boards and outdoor classroom areas.

Adjacent to East Lincoln Park is the Community Center which features a gymnasium and community room. Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood designed a new community room that is positioned to connect to the kitchen area though a roll-up window. The split-level expansion will create a lower level to house new restrooms and concession area for outdoor events and activities. Storage and maintenance areas for the Lincoln County Parks and Recreation facilities department will also be created.

Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc. is one of the Southeast’s largest privately held engineering and architecture firms. The Greenville office opened in 2007 and has since completed projects spanning North and South Carolina. Other GMC office locations include Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile and Huntsville, Alabama; Fort Walton Beach, Florida; and Nashville, Tennessee. For more information, visit www.gmcnetwork.com.
