Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood Selected by SC State University for Camp Harry Daniels Master Plan

Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc. is pleased to announce that the firm has been selected by South Carolina State University’s 1890 Research and Extension Program to create a new master plan for Camp Harry Daniels, located near Elloree, South Carolina.

The nearly 300-acre camp located in Calhoun County has been called one of the university's "crown jewels." In recent years, however, most of the camp has fallen into a state of disrepair. Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood will create a master plan to improve the camp, which currently offers a conference center, a 30-room motel-type facility, an auditorium, an assortment of cabins, dormitories for summer camps, a pond and basketball courts.

Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood’s improvements will include the demolition of all old buildings, the conceptual design of new replacement buildings, the proposal of a new security gate and the configuration of new roads to allow for better circulation between traffic and pedestrians. A new sports complex for basketball, tennis, swimming, softball, and multipurpose fields will also be included in the layout.
