Rock Creek Craftsmen begins restoring home built in 1898

Rock creek craftsmen was recently chosen to restore the historic home on 109 Coming street in Charleston South Carolina. The house was built in 1898 and was in imminent danger of collapsing due to neglect. Rock Creek Craftsmen partnered with a team of specialists to step in and save the house from disaster.

This historic home had all ready lost a historic cottage in the rear of the property. RCC will restore the exterior to the 1890 period with exacting details. On the interior the house will be re-purposed for much needed multifamily housing and student housing. Julia Martin will be the architect redesigning the new cottage in the rear as well as specifying the historic restoration phase. Kevin Meek, owner of Rock Creek Craftsmen is proud to save another home in Charleston. Rock Creek Craftsmen projects have won the Palmetto Trust Award for preservation and is nominated for the 2011 Carolopolis award for restoration in Charleston.
