Congaree Vista Guild Welcomes New Board of Directors
COLUMBIA, S.C. – January 3, 2012 – The Congaree Vista Guild, a non-profit, membership-based organization comprising a wide variety of restaurateurs, shop, business and gallery owners, as well as homeowners in the Vista, has elected a new Board of Directors for 2012.
Brian Dukes, general manager and executive chef of Blue Marlin, has been named president of the Vista Guild board, and Eddie Wales, owner of Motor Supply Company Bistro, has been named vice president.
“Our Board is tirelessly devoted to seeing that the businesses in the Vista thrive,” said Congaree Vista Guild Executive Director Sarah Luadzers. “The board also spearheads Artista Vista, Viva La Vista and Vista Lights, the Guild’s three annual events, and constantly work to improve the quality of life in Columbia’s arts and entertainment district.”
Vista Guild executive board members will each serve a one-year term.
“The Vista is seeing exciting growth right now, and our main goal as a board will be to promote, develop and preserve the unique characteristics of our neighborhood and beneficial growth in the Vista for Columbia,” said Dukes.
The Vista has long been Columbia’s creative center, and is now the Midlands’ place to go for nightlife and entertainment. The Congaree Vista Guild board strives to encourage healthy growth in the Vista, while seeing that the Vista is a vibrant symbol of progressive growth in Columbia.
