John Cole to Help Businesses Navigate New Laws
Charlotte – Nexsen Pruet attorney John Cole has been appointed as Director of Governmental Affairs for the North Carolina State Council of the Society of Human Resource Management. The one-year term, which began on January 1st, is Cole’s second.
“Each year, there are changes to federal and state law. And often, those have a significant impact on how North Carolina businesses can operate,” said Cole, an Employment and Labor Law attorney in Nexsen Pruet’s Charlotte office. “It’s my job to help employers understand new legislation and also to make sure lawmakers appreciate how legislation might impact our job creators.”
For more than 20 years, John Cole has been working for businesses on a wide variety of employment law and labor law matters. He has represented large and small employers before state and federal courts as well as administrative agencies. Cole regularly counsels and advises clients on human resources issues and conducts training programs for management, clients and trade groups.
