COLUMBIA, S.C. (January 10, 2012) -- The Congaree Vista Guild, a non-profit, membership-based organization comprising a wide variety of restaurateurs, shop, business and gallery owners, as well as homeowners in the Vista, expands its stretch of dining and nightlife establishments by four new restaurants and bars. Additionally, four new creative services businesses have also recently opened their doors in the Vista.

From coffee roasted in-house at Peace, Love and Rocky Roast to wedding vendors and planning experts in 911 Lady Street, the Vista continues to build upon its reputation as Columbia’s arts and entertainment district, while seeing several different types of businesses open.

Peace, Love and Rocky Roast (923 Gervais Street): Try the house coffee made with coffee beans roasted in house, several flavors of gelato or a chicken-salad sandwich.

Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina/TCBY (916 Gervais Street): Salsarita’s offers fresh Mexican food in a casual atmosphere, and TCBY offers frozen yogurt with 36 toppings.

Tutti Frutti (1205 Lincoln Street): Tutti Frutti offers self-serve yogurt with plenty of choices of toppings.

World of Beer (902 Gervais Street, Space F): With over 500 beers from around the world, World of Beer takes over two former restaurant spaces facing Street.

XS Nightlife (700 B Gervais Street): With a live music venue, lounge and outdoor cabana seating, XS is Columbia’s most upscale nightclub.

In addition, several creative businesses have opened in the Vista, including:

Parkside Wedding Studio, Kathy Moore Photography and Fern Studio Floral & Event Design (911 Lady Street, Ste. G): Combine a wedding planner, a talented photographer and a creative florist, and the three businesses sharing space in the Vista design very unique weddings.

Tom Bagby Photography (911 Lady Street, Ste. A): Customizing in unique custom portraiture, Tom Bagby and Kristen McGill have earned several photography awards and have a combined 35 years of experience.

“There’s always something new in the Vista,” said Sarah Luadzers, executive director of the Congaree Vista Guild. “Positive growth in the Vista is good for our neighborhood and great for Columbia. New businesses bring new options for our consumers and diners, and it also creates jobs and investments in the Vista.”
